More info on Forest Color
« on: November 21, 2011, 12:58:11 AM »
Hi.. as many others I am happy to find and use this plugin... ... Have spent the whole weekend to learn.. most is easy and stright forward.. but found its hard to grip Forest Color and to give models variations.
Material, map channels, Override, Range, Variations, items, elements.  So many combinations and similar functions on several menus.
Should appreciate more videos. Several realistic examples, in detail how you create and show different methods..

Sincerely Per Pixel

Yes, i admit that Forest Color may be a bit intimidating, because the large number of options involved.

We are now working on new training material, as demo scenes, videos and tutorials. We have plans to include specific content about Forest Color.

Yes ..fine .. as it is I think you have to apply "Forest Color" map to 3D plants from HQ Cataloge (especially leaf maps) before you can use the Material/ColorTint option in main menu? Takes time when I have a lot of plants.  And then there are a similar override options in Forest Color map. Even if I have come up with good results after experimentation I found it s hard to manage.  Good that you are working on tutorials.  Per

We cannot modify the HQ Plants libraries, but our idea for next releases is to include automatically Forest Color in the material, when a plant is selected from the Library Browser. However, we must see if this is possible and how it can be done.
