Placing trees along path puts them on in 0 con the Z axis
« on: March 23, 2018, 03:00:23 PM »
Hi!
I'm trying to opulate a stadium with people. I did the chairs with RailClone, but because i want to randomize de animation of the characters, I'm trying to do it using ForestPack and the Create Along Path tool.
The problem I have is that all the characters are placed on the ground, no matter where on the Z axis the spline is placed. Sometimes after I render, they go up, or some the ones at the edge of the splines go to the bottom and the rest remain up...
Am I doing something wrong?

The file is too heavy because the characters are animated, let me know if this is enough to help me or what can we do so I can send you the file.
thanks!

Hi,

Please check you don't have any geometry added to the Surface List. If any surfaces are added they will be used to position objects on the Z axis, and the spline will only be used for X and Y.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.

Cheers,

Paul

That was the problem!
I had used the RC object as a start (just to place the FP on the scene) but i though going to Tree Editor mode would disregard that.

Thanks a lot!
