Grouped objects changing materials
« on: January 22, 2019, 05:31:10 PM »
Hi all,
I am trying to use grouped objects in forest pro.
Both have multi sub-object materials.
One has 2 multi sub-object materials slot 1,2
Other has 20 multi sub-object materials Slots 1-20.
When they are scattered with forest pro object one takes over the first slots and object 2's materials ids are all 2 slots off.
Any suggestions on how one would not effect the other?
thanks!

I have created a test scene and it seems to work as expected:

It would help us if You could send us or attach here Your simplified scene

Hi Rokas,

Do your sub object material ID's combine?
Mine are combining hence changing the material assignment for the cars. The people are fine because they seem to be placed first In the sub object material.

FYI The car paint mat ID on the car is 9 (hence the Multi sub mat slot 9 is used).
In the Multi sub I used 1-8 before using FP and want to keep it so I can use it without FP if necessary.

hmm I must be doing something wrong....

I included the max scene....

Thanks!

You need to set ForestColor to Item mode instead of element:

Hope this helps. If not please explain in more details what do You mean by:
Code: [Select]
When they are scattered with forest pro object one takes over the first slots and object 2's materials ids are all 2 slots off.
