Several minor observations with latest version
« on: May 13, 2019, 03:57:22 PM »
Hi everyone,

I have updated to latest Forest pack. Working on several proejct simultaneously Vray Next  Sp1 and Corona 3.1  and have encountered several issues:

Corona

Parsing still takes forever. Opening FP and RC heavy scenes on a dual Xeon 64 GB RAm is still a nightmare.  And I am using these as simpler as possible, especially RC.
People  would greatly appreciate if you have some optimization tricks/tips with heavy scenes as next small tutorials on your web site.

Vray Next

Using Interactive mode there brought a weird issue - some Maxtree models appeared with solid colors. Same scene opened several times, random objects get their object ID color, which is rendered  instead of the material. So Interactive is unpredictable. I managed to render the scene without touching anything, but opening/closing it several times.

Thanks,

Michal Karmazín

Hi,

Thanks for reporting these issues, feedback is always really helpful.

Regarding the optimization tricks/tips with heavy scenes, please feel free to check this "Best Workflow for very large scene with Forest!" thread, where you can find some more tips for dealing with heavy objects / scenes. Hope you'll find it interesting.

Currently, there's no related tutorial and we'll think about it - it might be a good "Tips & Tricks tutorial" - any ideas and suggestions are more than welcome. For this purpose, please feel free to use the "Suggestions for Forest Pack Tips&Tricks tutorials" thread on our forum. As mentioned there: "These tutorials are made by request, so if you have an issue you want to be featured, please post here your ideas."

Are you using the latest Forest Pack Lite/Pro 6.2.1? Some "IPR issues" have been addressed since the first implementation. As usually, IPR issues are difficult to reproduce, if possible please feel free to send us your scene. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
