Title: New Library - Grayed out options - Forest Set Dependences
Post by: Angel 1=2 on June 19, 2023, 10:47:07 am
Hi guys,

I am trying to setup some library presets with latest Fores pack. For some reason right click in the Forest pack library browser gives a menu where none of the options are  active - all gray.
Could You elaborate what is the best practices in this venture and why the menu is inactive?

Apart from this  have one more additional question.
Is there a quick way to select all items used within a specific Forest Set? Selecting all Forest dependeces with the Forest Toolbox Script or right click menu does select only the Forest sets without the nested objects.

Thanks

Hi,

First let me mention, that only user libraries are modifiable, to change the built-in libraries they must be duplicated to a user's location.

To create a new library:

When you create a library Forest Pack creates a new folder that includes an XML file and sub-folders for thumbnails. This and any other sub-folders found in the library location will not be displayed. This allows you to add additional directories for models, maps, and materials used by the library without them cluttering up the tree navigator.
Regarding the Forest Set question - I'm afraid, that because of the different way how it handles objects, it’s not at the moment supported. We'll see what can be done in future versions.

Best regards,

Hi,
Thanks for elaborating this.
Regardless, see attached - everything is gray and inactive - new folder, new library.
Only way to add folders is to create them inside Windows Explorer.

Never mind.
Figured it out!
New folder in a new location  did the trick.
