Is this possible?
I want to scatter objects in a grid but above eachother, but it doesn't seem to work..
This would be awesome!

sry i had to change to UV, i thought i tried that allready
:D

It is also possible in XY mode, using separate surfaces.

Hmm.. it is not really working as i want.
I have a editbale poly which is a grid of poly's (10 on the x-as [1800mm] and 3 on the z-as [3400mm] high)
So 30 poly's which i use as a Surface.
My goal is to use this grid to scatter three different objects. But only one object can be on one poly at the time..
I only achieve one type of object to show, unless i change the offset y, then the other shows up. nut no randomness.
(hard to explain :) )

ah maybe that approach will work.

If you don't get it to work using separate surfaces, please post a screenshot or a test scene.

How do i get the randomness?

How do i get the randomness?
I'm afraid in this case it is necessary to create a separate Forest object by level. Currently Forest uses the same random seed for each surface, so the distributions are identical. (I think we would change this).
But there is an alternative way to get it:
1) Scatter them using an unique UV Surface.
2) Switch to Custom Edit (Tree Editor).
3) Change to the sub-object edit mode and select all items.
4) Click Tree Editor->Randomize

that would be great!
Its offcourse built for forest and nature scattering but i use it for a lot more and it would be really great to not only focus on trees and plants.
I will try your workflow later on. thanks!
