Title: object area exclude
Post by: CO2263 on September 10, 2013, 10:08:07 AM
Hi everyone :)
I have some new question...
I have a grass (forest) and a path (spline sweep). When I select path as exclude area its ok but some grass is overlapping.
When I use 'scale' - it scales like if I scaled the object. Any way to make it working the same way as if I scaled the sweep section?
Thx

No, it's not possible because Forest has not information about the sweep section. The object is handled and scaled as an unique mesh.

In this case i suggest to use a separate spline to define the excluding area. It's much more precise, fast and provides additional features as the "Boundary Checking". Object areas are commonly used for complex meshes, when splines are not applicable or harder to create.

thanks for reply
yes, now I use spline areas but my scene is huge (residential estate) and my list of spline exclude areas grows and grows
my guess was I could use object exclude - as for all scene I have one curb object (spline-sweep)
