Object Flickering

(1/1)

ldotchops:
Hi,

I have known issues of flickering in the past but this one has stumped me, since i upadated I keep getting crashes and flickering of objects, and i cannot work out why.

The flickering seems completely random, in this example i have some grass scattered using some megascans grass. When i hit render it appears one way and when i refresh the render it appears another on the same frame, I can't work out what is happening.

I had this on previous scene just before this one and i managed a work around by replacing forest pack with instances via the forest untility which fixed the problem. However, I cannot do that for this scene because it will be too heavy.

Hi,

First, I should point out that using the Camera - Distance Falloff feature for walk-through animations is not recommended. This feature can lead to items suddenly appearing or disappearing as the camera moves and changes distance, as noted in our online reference guide. If this isn’t the issue, I suggest switching to the Custom Edit mode, as the problem could be related to surface evaluation. Try using the Surface > Place Items button and disabling the Surface > Non-Image modes - Link to surface checkbox to see if this helps resolve the issue.

We appreciate any additional comments you can share about this with us or the user community, as it may help others facing similar problems.

Best regards,

I think that might have worked, but it was like i had to keep going back to generate mode to find a look to lock in place in custom edit mode as it kept flickering the order of things around, sometimes things weren't rendering.

For this to work i had to generate, and then up the max items under Display to a silly number then lock them in on custom edit mode. otherwise it only showed a small number of objects.

I think this has worked so thank you, but i'm still a bit confused by it as i don't why it's acting in the way it is.
