Distribution maps in network locations
« on: October 07, 2011, 11:41:04 PM »
I was able to successfully get all of my models and maps to be automatically loaded from network storage for my projects but the distribution maps always need manual setting of the path to my network server. Any way to fix this?

If the distribution maps are copied together the other textures, in any shared texture path, the plugin should locate them.

Does it fail with network rendering, on interactive sessions or both ?

I set my paths for all files to the network but it seems I have to manually set distribution paths. Is that correct?

It is not necessary. If you copy the distribution maps to any folder defined in Customize->Configure User Paths->External files, then Forest should locate them automatically when needed.

I've been checking the code, and the function which loads the bitmap doesn't meet the specifications of the SDK for the latest Max versions.

I cannot reproduce the problem here, but it would fail in other configurations. We will fix it for the next patch.
