Greetings
I have started to build my own custom library using different purchased or downloaded plants from evermotion and AutodeskSeek/Xfrog. I have noticed on a couple pieces that I have either random greyscale buckets (using Vray3.0 and Max 2014) or just an altogether "off" transparency map if I leave the default .tiffs in for the opacity.
I have attached a few images to show you what I am experiencing. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time!
-Greg
1st image: Straight Render after applying the optimize material through Forest Pack
2nd image: Diffuse taken out and colors added to help distinguish geometry
3rd image: Diffuse put back in and a .png with alpha map put in the Refraction slot vs. .tif in the Opacity slot. You will notice in this one it's better but there still seems to be a gray scale anomaly in the scene. I have experienced this on more than one custom plant.

Hi,
I would suggest you to check this "Problems adding 2D billboards to new library (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=2217.msg8253#msg8253)" related thread. You can find there a possible material set-up for a .TIF bitmap with Alpha layer included.
As for 3.0 V-Ray user, I highly suggest you to set the Opacity map Filtering to None and your Base Material for the Forest Material (http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/FORESTPACK/Forest+Material) needs to be a VRayMtl (as explained here (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=2544.msg9634#msg9634)). Also please feel free to check our FAQ section's "Suggested settings for billboards (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=448.0)" post.
If your issue persist, would you please send us your material / sample scene through WeTransfer (https://www.wetransfer.com/) to support@itoosoft.com to analyse it here. Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,

Thank you, Michal. I uploaded the scene to wetransfer as the suggestions did not change the affected maps.
Please let me know if I can provide further information.
