Siteplan - bushes
« on: December 12, 2015, 11:00:26 AM »
hi

i'm creating a siteplan where i have a lot of houses that all needs bushes around.

i wonder what is the best / easy / flexible way of adding the bushes?

right now i place them by copying them around the site - but is there a smarter way?

thanks :-)

i know i'ts possible to add some random rotation, but as the bushes dimension i 3m x 1m, random rotation is only usefull when they are rotated 0 degree or 180 degrees.

does anyone know if this is possible?

thanks

Hi Jorgensen,

There are may possible ways how to distribute bushes around houses and using Surface / Spline Areas or its combinations with the Object Exclude Area(s) usually does the job pretty well. Please feel free to post more about your specific case.

"... random rotation is only usefull when they are rotated 0 degree or 180 degrees ..."

For these purposes there are Probability Curves, which lets you to define the probability of each random value in the rotation range.

Also let me mention, that's easily feasible in the new Forest Pack Pro 5.0.2 beta using the brand new "Effects" feature (it's similar to a scripting engine, it's based on mathematical expressions which are applied to the Forest items). In our on-line reference guide you can find an example of the Stepped Rotation effect.

Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,
