Hello,
I've got a question: When painting a forest it sometimes happens that the paint strokes are placed below or above the polygons I am painting on. The forest objects themselves are in the right place. It's surely pretty simple but I can't figure it out :P I already tried with reset xform but that didn't help. Pivot point is also in the correct position.
I attached a picture where on the right side the strokes are correctly placed on top of the polygon and on the left side they are placed below the poygon I am painting on ::)
Thx & greetings

Hi,
Did you perform any change(s) on such surface / its topology after the Forest object creation (the Paint Area isn't linked to the surface)?
I would suggest you to try rebuilding the Forest object by pressing the Update surfaces data button or marking the Auto check-box (to Update surface data automatically (http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/FORESTPACK/Surface#Surface-SurfacesList) - this may add a performance hit for complex surfaces). Is there any difference?
Best regards,

Thx for your answer,
no I didn't perform any changes to the surface after the forest creation. Auto update check box for surfaces is checked, doesn't make a difference :-\
It is possible to work like that although it makes it a bit more difficult to paint because I can't see where I am painting ;) But I am trying to figure out the reason for the strange behaviour as it doesn't make any sense to me. I assume it is somehow linked to the surfaces geometry. I also chencked the poly's normals, they are all correct...

Hi,
As you've pointed out, that might be something specific for your surface topology as we can't reproduce similar troubles. Please feel free to send us (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=3648.0) your scene and we'll check it here.
Best regards,
