Forest object as area for another Forest object
« on: April 09, 2021, 02:49:43 PM »
Hi,
with new Forest ability to scatter non-geometry objects in this case splines. It possible to use this FP object as area for another FP object? I can't get it to work. If this will work it will be super useful and it opens new ways to create nice scatters :)

For example scatter a spline circle with one FP and then use this FP (attachment 01) as spline area for another FP object (attachment 02), then with help of leaning effect you have best way to create crass chunks (attachment 3).

If Forest can scatter splines but can't behave like spline its a bit pity :(  It will be great to have this feature.

You can workaround this. You need 3rd party addon - border splines.
put editable poly on top of splines. Scatter them. Add editable poly on top of ForestPack and use that object in the border splines tool to generate final spline.

Hope this helps.

Hmm this may work but its a workaround and it requires another plugin. Please consider this as a wish list entry :) There are maybe some technical limitations I know, but from my point of view is just a FP objetc working as spline. Or at Least ability to convert FP to spline, but then we loose procedural approach.

This free plugin is the best solution I can offer right now.

Please understand, that ForestPack scattering splines does not become a spline itself.

I already have spcript of this kind so there is no problem to workaround this. Im just trying to say it will be great to have this ability in future. :)
