PROBLEM with exlude objects not rendering correctly
« on: March 12, 2023, 11:05:26 AM »
Hi,
I just found out that excluding objects from a forestpack renders wrong every time.
It renders as expected in IPR mode, but when I make a render (wether progressive or bucket) the exluded aread do not work anymore.
Please see the attached image illustrating the issue.
I made this test using the official tutorial "Combining Concrete Paving and Grass with Forest Pack and RailClone (intermediate)" without changing anything.

3ds max 2023.3
Vray 6 update 1
Forest Pack 8.0.9
Railclone 5.2.8

Hi,

thanks for getting in touch. Seems there's been a change in Max since that was recorded. It used to be the case that a RailClone object added as an exlude area to Forest Pack would have instancing disabled automatically. It would appear that this is no longer the case, so to get it to work as expected, please go to the Display rollout for the RC object and uncheck Use Instancing Engine.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.

Cheers!

Paul

Ah yes ! I always forget to try to switch to mesh mode when such things happen. Thank you Paul.
