fly through animation problem
« on: December 10, 2014, 10:29:33 AM »
hello all, i need some help..
i use forest pack pro to create grass and flowerbeds in my visualizations.
when i render a fly trough animation on several computers using backburner i get a problematic result.
the location of the objects are not identical in every frame. every render slave create it's own unique forest, and the result is jumping grass and flowers.
i tried many things, i tried using the custom edit mode in the tree editor,
is there a way to bake or cache the grass?
please help.
than'x
Guy.

Hi,

Thanks for the video sample provided.

Well, the "safest" quick workaround would be to use Forest Tools and convert the "problematic" Forest object to instances.

Anyway, would you kindly send us your simplified scene (containing problematic Forest objects) through WeTransfer to support@itoosoft.com? We´ll analyse what's causing the issue, as without having the scene is very hard to say, where the problem is. Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

thank you,
i used the workeround and i believe that tomorrow morning the overnight renders will be o.k
the disadvantage of this workeround is that i have  1,920,904,663 polygons in my scene and i'm scared of when it is gonn'a kik me in the ass///
good thing that i have a strong computer.
could you find a better solution?
i've sent you the scene via wetransfer.
regards.
guy.

Hi,

We've received your scene and did testing with it. Most probably the plug-in is not properly installed on some of your render nodes or it's from a different version. Please double check you are using the same release on all render nodes (also same 32/64 bits version).

If so, I would suggest you for each slave node:

1) Be sure 3ds Max and VRay Spawner are stopped.
2) Delete ForestVRay150sp3.dll, ForestVRay20.dll and ForestVRay30.dll from the Max root folder (some files may not exist, depending of the VRay version), and ForestPackPro.dlo from "plugins".
3) Reinstall Forest Pack using the setup program, or manually as described here.

That should fix it.

Kind regards,
