Hi iToosoft,
I want to make a large aera of growing trees animation. I choose the random from map mode to make the sweep growing animation(with one sweep direction).
But the sample count is limit to 20 is too limit for this animation. I hope I can set to 100 or more sample count for time offset sample animation.

Hi, this parameter is limited to 20 just to avoid to consume too much resources. Each sample keeps a copy of the mesh in memory, so the RAM required for 20 samples of a high poly tree may be significative.
But there is not problem to increase this limit in next updates. I just added that to the to-do list.

When will you release the new update with much higher sample counts ? We really need higher sample counts. We will use this high sample count for low polygon mesh only. You can set a warning to this value.
-
We have not a release date for the next update. Anyway, we can prepare a custom patch for you. Just tell me what Max versions do you use.

I use MAX2012 64bit (main render software) and MAX2014 64bit. Can you upload a custom patch here ? I must use more sample count in my project now. It's too limit now, as you see my scene in this topic http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=2796.0 .
Many thanks.

We've done a animation test, and it seems the patch is not necessary after all.
The limit applies only to the Max interface, but there is not restriction using Maxscript. Just set the number of samples using this:
$.animsamples = 100
The value in the rollout remains locked to 20, but it works using 100 samples.

I'm very glad with your quick answer. That's very good! Will there be any problem in Backburner rendering with this trick (Maxscript command) ?
I must make sure.
-
No, there should not be problems with Backburner. The value is saved in the scene as usual, and loaded correctly.
You can check it saving the scene, loading and checking the value with Maxscript.

I have another question,
The "Time Offset" value is "0" from the rollout of Animation tab when I input this command "$.animsoffset=1f". The time offset value in rollout wasn't "1", why?
I tried to input "1" in the rollout of Animation tab and I input this command "$.animsoffset", and I got the answer is "192f " in MAXscript listerner.
Does the real "animsoffset" value "192f" in Maxscript equal to "1" in the rollout of Animation tab ?

Strange, it seems the normal behaviour for time parameters. I don't know if that is intentional or a Max bug.
There are few Max objects using this type of parameter, but i found one in Helpers->Expose Transform->Timing offset, and it works in the same way.
