Rotating Icon
« on: December 08, 2025, 02:34:31 pm »
Good afternoon.
This may be a very simple solve, but i have never worked out how to rotate the icon.
So at the moment, when i use the generate and not Icon Mode, I get a vertical icon, and so everything tries to built vertically.
How do i reset it to Horizontal.
I tried rotating it , but to no avail.

Help  would be grateful.

Thank you
Phil kelly

Hi Phil,

When creating a Forest object / using a spline or surface, always check the coordinates - they should match the intended orientation. For example, a spline or plane created in the Front view will behave differently in ForestPack than one created in the Perspective or Top view.

If you want to change it, you can use 3ds Max’s Rotate tool just as you would with any other object. For splines or surfaces that have been reused or imported, it can also be helpful to apply the Reset XForm utility to reset their local coordinates.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Thank you .
That makes sense. i built a model front  on with a section dwg, and extruded all the 2D lines.
So the Orientation was not correct.
I rebuilt the model now is plan ,and it works fine.
So thank you .
