Scale transform with map.
« on: November 30, 2016, 07:03:03 PM »
Hi,

I want to make a carpet where the parts of the pattern is much higher then the rest of the carpet. I figured that I would just put a b/w image into Z axis map and set min and max values. Where white is max and black is min.
But I can't get any visible changes in scale no matter what I do. The geo scales uniformly over all distribution area and dosn't follow my map.
Any ides? Tnx.

Hi,

I would suggest you to double check the UV mapping of used Surface and if the Map channel is correctly set under Transform - Scale - Map - Map channel (by default set to 1).

Let me add, that marking the Surface - Auto check-box (to Update surface data automatically) would be handy to update your Forest object(s) on any surface change (if not, it'll update while building data for rendering).

Attaching a sample scene & screen-shots of its set-up. Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,
