Regarding network rendering and licenses
« on: July 18, 2017, 08:06:54 AM »
Hello,

I have a quick question, I have ONE FP license floating that i have installed on my laptop, and in my network I have 4 computers, my way of working is to prepare the scene in the laptop and then copy the file to the other computers for rendering... thing is, i installed FP on them as well, but i did a full install, so whenever i have to render on them i cant use FP on the laptop to continue editing other files i have.

is it possible to install FP in such a way that the other PC's can borrow the license from the laptop whenever editing needs to be done on them BUT ALSO be able to use them just for rendering whenever there's a need to use them as render machines only? So I'm not exactly using them to network render, sometimes I prefer to manually hit render on each of them.

Hi,

I would suggest you to check the "Setting up/configuring client computers" post. Hope that'll clear it up.

Best regards,
