Title: Strange results with Boundary Checking
Post by: gpearson100 on March 27, 2020, 06:52:59 PM
When I set it to "Edge" and add the Forest Edge map to the Cutout Map of the material (physical), I'm getting shadows where the grass should be removed. Ive uploaded a render to illustrate.

Using Arnold, 3dsMax 2020, Forest Pro 6.2.4

Thanks

Hi, please try increasing "Transparency Depth" in the Arnold render settings, as shown in image.
In our tests, the default value (50) works fine, but depending of the scene it may require a higher value.

Forest Edge works rendering the trimmed edges as a transparent item. That's the reason it's affected by the transparency settings.

Or if you use VrayDirt on the ground, check if "Work With Transparency" is checked ;-)

That fixed it. For some reason mine was set to 10. Not sure how that happened.
Thanks
