Using Displacement (Mental ray)
« on: January 30, 2014, 01:23:40 PM »
I was wondering if there is a workaround for this. I am using Forest to scatter an object on surface. The object has render time displacement  using a Arch and Design material. When I render object on it its own the displacement is working fine, but when I scatter the objects and render the forest the displacement is not coming through. I have also tried a mentalray base shader.

Thanks

Unfortunately it's not possible to use a surface which is modified at render time. Scattering process is done in a previous stage, when this data is not available.
