FP Grass and Density Falloff
« on: September 20, 2023, 06:47:53 PM »
Hi all,

I'm trying to uniformly pull my grass back using density falloff but it doesn't do what I hoped.

I have my grass surface and FP is using edge mode.  I've now added in a Kerb that needs to overlay the grass surface (so the road width is correct).

The video shows the falloff being changed - you can see that changing the falloff doesn't change all of the grass models.

The first image shows no falloff

Then me changing the falloff

The last image shows no falloff after putting an edge loop in the surface and deleting the faces the kerb overlays.

I really don't want to do this over the site so would prefer to use Falloff while also keeping a clean edge.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Hi,

A recommendable workflow to achieve a nice cut would be to use a smaller Spline Area. You can easily adjust it as needed with the help of our free SplineOffset modifier. I'm attaching a possible setup - 230921_splineOffsetSampleScene_iToo.

Optionally, you can use that object as an Exclude Object Area (230921_objectAreaSampleScene_iToo.max).

I hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,
