Hi Patric,

For these purposes, the UV mode would be recommendable. The UV layout should correspond to the intended direction of individual parts (in a similar way as on attached screen-shot). This way, you can easily control the overall Surface - Direction in combination with the Transform - Translation / Rotation / Scale values. Attaching a sample scene. Hope you'll find it useful.

Hi guys, is there any way for you to get us some video tutorial on how to make a thatched roof using forest pack?
Like, I don't know how did the UVW unwrap will affect the surface direction properly.

I also attached an image of the roof style for your reference.
I hope you can help me.
Thanks a lot.

Hi

Thanks for the suggestion. That would be an interesting tutorial - added to the list!

In the meantime, to use UVs to control the direction of a scatter on a surface you need to do the following

1 - Add the roof  geometry to the Surface list
2 - Change the mode to UV. If you want to see how changes to the surface's UVs affect the FP object in real time, then you should also turn on Auto build.

3 - Add a UVW Unwrap modifier to the roof surface. You can then rotate the UVW islands individually to control the direction of the FP objects

I hope that helps,

Paul
