Itooforest dissappears when rotating surface
« on: July 05, 2017, 05:49:18 PM »
Hello there, I purchased a maxtree file with multiple forest objects to create a green wall.
When I rotate the surface  the forests object either reduce or completely disappears (rotation 90°)
The forests objects are on xy mode and auto is seleted.

Thanks for your help

Alex

Hi Alex,

When using the XY mode (items are distributed using the XY plane of the Forest object (in local coordinates), and then placed on the surface moving each object along its Z axis), you should bind the Forest object & the surface with the 3ds Max's Select and Link tool.

Please feel free to check our "Scattering on Vertical Surfaces" tutorial, where you can find several useful tips regarding this topic.

Best regards,

I did look at the tutorial for further help, i.e. clusters etc... it was really helpful.

Thanks again it is really appreciated.
