Units Mismatch
« on: July 15, 2022, 04:48:39 pm »
Hello 3D Artists,

Well, this is nothing new, but I'm wondering about it again recently.  (I think it was being reported at least as far back as 2017?)
Most of my scenes with FPP-Xrefs, upon opening give me the dreaded scene units mismatch dialog boxes, sometimes up to a dozen.
The only option is to click "ok" so I ask, why must the user participate and get the messages at all?
I'm aware of the Silentium script and might use it again, but I wonder if this irritating behavior could be fixed or at least remove the "interactive part."

Thanks a lot!

To my knowledge, I'm afraid this remains a limitation on Autodesk's side. Unfortunately, we cannot bypass this dialog. It's triggered automatically by 3DS Max, when merging objects from a scene using different scene units. If fact, we asked Autodesk about some mechanism to disable it, but there isn't one at present.

Best regards,
Paul

At Autodesk, this is already in "todo". Unfortunately, nobody knows in which version it will be fixed.
