Multiple surface delete
« on: July 29, 2015, 01:22:28 PM »
Hello,

I have a suggestion that would improve Forest Pack. As the title suggests, the ability to select multiple surfaces and delete them would be useful.

I've stumbles across this limitation after I attached a lot of objects together that I had individually added as surfaces in to a forest pack object. After attaching them together I had a lot of <deleted> surfaces in the list and they have to be deleted one by one. It's a bit tedious when you have a lot of deleted surfaces in conjunction with a lot of Forest Pack Objects.

If you could shift or ctrl click on multiple surfaces and delete that would be lovely.

I hope that makes sense.

Cheers.

Andy.

Hi, the Surfaces list is a standard Max control which doesn't support multiple selection. That's is the reason it works slightly different from our other lists.

I will take a look if we can change it. Thanks for your suggestions !.

Hi,

Meanwhile, please feel free to use attached simple "FP Surface Deleter" script (looking for non-existent surfaces & deleting those) written for this purpose. It helps you to easily Remove From Selected from selected Forest object(s) or perform that on all Forest object in your scene by clicking the Removes from all FP Objects button.

Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,

Thanks to you both!

I'm not up on how plugins are written, but it appears to me that a button within Forest pack that runs this script would be an answer...........maybe you two should have a chat.  8)
