A more efficient way to save presets please.
« on: April 29, 2019, 12:18:10 PM »
So can we have a user intuitive way to save presets please. Where ideally you have "One" button to save the setup you have just created. Ideally, this would collate all the geometry/textures used in this preset into a custom location so when you try to load that into another scene it just works as expected, This would work with one click ( not manually saving geometry and editing xml files etc)  At the moment to save a preset is over complex and time-consuming, and to be honest, its quicker manually collating the geometry and saving a separate max file which you then merge into other files.

Agreed. Added to our wishlist.
We have plans to improve the Library Browser, but unfortunately we could not work on it yet, because other projects.

Thanks.

Is there an ETA on this. Because I was going to make some presets and libraries and such, wondering if I do, will they still be compatible with a new way of generating presets/library.

Sorry, no ETA for this. Currently we are working to release RailClone 4. After that we will get back to develop ForestPack.
We are small team and have limited resources.

Hi, this feature is already implemented in Forest 7 beta. Please, take a look to it.

Now the exporting process is done in a single step (with right click->"Import Objects", as before), creating the Preset, Max files, material library, thumbnails and assets.
