Title: v-ray camera problem, possibly caused by Forest pack or railclone
Post by: JTP Vis on September 09, 2014, 04:53:30 PM
Hi,

I've been in touch with Chaosgroup about a black bucket DR render issue that occurs with v-ray 3.00.07 on Max 2014 with railclone 2.3.3 and forest pack 4.2.4. The problem is that all of a sudden my single v-ray camera in a scene won't render correctly, i.e. instead of rendering an image, it renders a single black square in the corner of the frame buffer. V-ray complains that the camera has too small an aperture and then only renders one bucket of the frame. In order to fix the problem, I just have to instance the camera and render again, and it completes without problems. Chaosgroup have said that they have not been able to reproduce the problem at their end, due to them not having the railclone and forest pack plugins, but have suggested that the problem stems from them as the scene that I sent them renders correctly without the plugins.

I can provide the scene for testing, so can someone please contact me about the problem?

Kind regards,

Bill

It's a strange issue, because the plugins should not affect the full render, only their own objects.

Is there some difference hidding all Forest and RailClone objects ?
And converting them to instances using Forest Tools and RailClone Tools ?

I don't have v-ray 3 yet, but does toggling the camera rollout/limit camera visibility settings of the forest object have any effect?
