Vray 3.20 RT GPU memory
« on: August 01, 2015, 02:33:11 AM »
Is there any way to optimize gpu memory for rendering a large area with forest pro trees? I have two Nvidia GTX 980 4GB but when I try to render my scene with RT it crashes. If I disable most of the trees it can render without problem. GPU rendering is my only solution now because I want to render an animation and both cards can render very fast instead of my cpu (which is an overclocked i7 5960x but cant match the gpus speed)

I suggest you post this question in the ChaosGroup site, they would give you a more accurated awnser.

They made the implementation of Forest in V-Ray RT, using our API. I don't know the technical details about how it works internally.
