FP Mulch Presets Render Black

I am using max 2019, most current vray next and FP. I make a FP preset lawn on a surface. Next paint out some small exclude areas.

Then I create a new FP preset mulch and use the same surface used for FP preset lawn. Then I chose the FP preset lawn as an FP exclude object for the FP preset mulch. Mulch appears as it should but it is rendered as all black.

Instancing the mulch material into the material editor and it appears black in the material editor sample slot.
 
What am I doing wrong? Why does the mulch render black? I have tried 3-4 different mulch presets and all render as black. It's not getting the color info for some reason

Please help!

I had to add the path to the FP maps. It seems like I always have this trouble. When I created the first FP object for the scene in question, the FP dialog opened asking if I wanted to add the path to the maps and I chose yes. But still it does not find the maps . I have to use Configure User Paths and then chose c:users/myname/AppData/Ocal/itoo software/Forest Pack Pro/ and then I check use all sub folders.

Once I do this I save the config User paths .mxp file in the max project folder for the project. I think even them it is not a guarantee that it stays in the user path config.

This happens all the time. Wen I archive a project and open it back up at a later date I have to go thru this same process. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or how to better manage this. It's a recurring time sink.

Please check Asset Tracker (Shift T) and see if You got much textures as Status Found:

It seems to work for CPU but not for GPU. Both mulch and gravel render black. Well, the gravel is rendering black and white.

Hi. Unfortunately Random Tint Functions are not compatible with Vray GPU.
GPU render core is developed by chaosgroup. We have limited power to influence it's development.
