Title: vray distance map support?
Post by: Krzysztof Cebula on August 24, 2011, 05:56:33 PM
im trying to use vray distance map to control distribution of objects and it doesnt seem to work as expected, is there any specific workflow to that, or is its just not possible now?

It should work fine for distribution maps, but not for rotate or scaling (it requires a bug fixing that we have not made public yet).

What is the problem exactly ?

the cutout part seems to be offset and not too scale.
im using surface in XY mode and not sure what pixel / units values should i  input to make it work properly.
any help with that?
edit:
scale appears to be allright,  but its clearly offset to the actual object thats added to the distance map.
help would be great as i really need that feature working correctly.

This is a problem of VRay distance:

The workaround is to move the surface to (0,0,0) and apply a Reset XForm. Also be sure that Forest is at the origin of the coordinate system as well.
