Save Areas in library
« on: July 05, 2020, 07:57:57 AM »
I have a bunch of Forests I made that I use Paint to define areas to be distributed, each Paint with its own specific objects.
Those paints are defined the way I need them, and all I have to do is to merge/drag-drop this Forest object in a working scene, clarify the surface and start painting.
Its pretty neat and exactly the way I like it so no problem there.

The thing is, I would like to throw it in the library for a quick access. After I did that, I noticed the paint objects are gone and I have to re-define them every single time.
It pretty much renders the entire thing pointless.

So the question is - how to make the Areas such as paints and spline along with their properties to be saved in the library with the relevant object?
Mean while I use Connecter but its not ideal.

Areas are treated as additional parameters for ForestObject. They are not meant to embedded to Forest object.
That is because generally areas customized for one terrain won't be relevant for other. And would cause unexpected distribution.

Your workaround using external manager seems great solution.
