Hi,

Would you mind to describe more in detail your scene set-up? A screen-shot of the Forest Color map configuration would be handy too. Take in mind, in case you're using proxies, that as mentioned in our on-line reference guide:

"To use Map and Tint by Element, you must use VRay or Mental Ray and standard meshes as Custom Objects, other type of objects as proxies are not supported."

If that's the case, setting the Variation slider to Item should fix it.

Also, please feel free to send us your scene to check it here.

Best regards,

ahh so you have to be using forest scatter to use it? just tried and its the only way to actually get it to work, would be useful if it works without forest scatter

Hi,

Yes, at present Forest Color only works with objects that are a part of a Forest Pack object. If it helps there is a script that can be used to add objects to FP so that Forest color could be used. You can get it here: http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=2929.msg12480#msg12480  there's also a version that retains any instancing here: http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=2929.msg14392#msg14392

I hope that helps.

Many thanks!

Paul
