Vray Spawner missing ForestPro Library Trees

Hey, we´re new to forst, so at the very first: congrats to forestpro, really impressive and very helpfull!

Everything works fine, scattering vrayproxies and vray distributed rendering fine but: when using 2d billboard trees from the forestpro library the vray spawnes dont find them and don´t render the forestpro object
On the spawners ForestPro is installed as render slave, Max2012-64bit, vray 2.20.02, forest 3.6.0, slaves running winxp64. ForestLibrary is sitting on c:.... (default) wich is of cours not the best idea.

Any suggestions, thanks in advance

It seems a textures path issue. Please, be sure the following paths are added to Customize->Configure User Paths->External Files in the render nodes:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro\distmaps\images
c:\program files (x86)\itoo software\forest pack pro\maps\HShadows
c:\program files (x86)\itoo software\forest pack pro\maps\Standard
c:\program files (x86)\itoo software\forest pack pro\maps\Classic
C:\Program Files (x86)\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro\lib\3D\HQPlants\Free Models\maps


By default, Forest 3.6.2 doesn't include these paths to the map configuration in the render nodes. But in Forest 3.7.x beta we have already added this functionality.

hmmm, locally these paths are set when creating the first forest object. as the render slaves are never started of course this doesn´t happen. Is it correct that i have to add these paths manually to the render slaves ini file then....?
By the way, some days ago there was a 3dsmax.ini file including the paths. Do you know where it went?

Yes, the paths exist but they are not included in the Max configuration. Forest adds them the first time it runs from an interactive session (it shows a dialog message), but not in the render nodes (at least in v.3.6.2).

You should add them to the 3dsmax.ini located here:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\3dsmax\<max version>\enu\3dsmax.ini
 
See the [BitmapDirs] section (you can copy it from a installed workstation), be careful what some folders on this path would be hidden by Windows.
