I updated my forest pack to 3.7.3 and now my scene won't render. :-\ When I updated my vray it wouldn't read the proxies, so I installed /reinstalled my previous version of vray.... should I do the same with 3.7.3?
-
Forest 3.7.3 was compiled using VRay 2.2, but we tested it before releasing and worked fine with VRay 2.0 as well.
What VRay version do you use ?
-
The scene was created using 21001 and 3.7.2. It was fine. I updated both vray and forest and I was getting the "unhandled exception" I now have removed and /reinstalled the previous versions and can't grab a license for forest pack.... aahhhhh I am getting winsocks error 11004.....
-
Please, try removing the file ForestVRay20.dll from the Max root folder, next reinstall Forest to be sure the DLL was updated correctly. If it doesn't work, i would suggest to try Forest 3.7.2 again to see if there is some difference.
About the winsocks error, it seems a DNS issue. By some reason, the license server cannot be located in the network by its name. I would try to enter the IP address of the server, instead searching it automatically.

One more question: are you using VRay 2.20.02 or 2.20.01 ? I think there was some problems fixed in the last udpate...
-
I have re-installed 2.10.01 and I went back to 3.7.2....... I tried your suggestions with IP and still no license error. >:(
"winsocks 10061, no connection because the target machine actively refused it."
-
OK,
So I got everything back working, but with 2.10.01 and the Forest 3.7.2........ now I am aLeary to upgrade. waiting to hear from Vray. Any one else having issues with the update?
-
I just wrote in the ChaosGroup site about the VRay issue. I think Vlado would give us more information.
About the license error, it's strange because we have not modified the licensing code in v.3.7.3. I suggest to enable the debug mode in the license server, to see what is happening exactly. The procedure is described here:

I need to get a couple of renders out and then I will update my software next week. I can let you know how everything progresses.
Thanks again for the support.

Found the problem. I had " D:\Master\•Rendering" in the path. Specificly the odd dot. This causeed the errors. It's called middle dot....yikes. anyway everything works. my bad.
