Would it be possible to have the option to select a layer in the Reference distribution mode rather than having to select individual reference points?

That way if you add any more points into that layer Forest would automatically add in another object. It would be useful for me in positioning trees.

In Forest Pack 8 we added a new Forest Set helper object that includes this feature. Please take a look at this tutorial for more information. The section on using layers as a source is at the end.
