Animations with a black and white map
« on: August 04, 2022, 03:28:12 AM »
I'm trying to find a way to have an animated mesh with a B&W map. Where the map is white but when it turns black it triggers an animation. I was looking at the animation from map method but the animation frames are based off a gradient, so the animation just jumps to the end because its white then its black. I'm not sure if possibly there are some setting within that method I'm missing? Or maybe something in the effects that can help me. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi,

You should be using the Random From Map mode (not Frame From Map). You can find steps on how “To control the starting frame of an animation using a map” in our online documentation. I hope that helps.

Yes that sounds like that should work! Thank you for that link. I was watching the other tutorial on animation and it did quite show it like this one. Just to much great documentation.
Thank you for for the help!
