« on: October 14, 2016, 02:16:49 AM »
 - Fixed bug updating first frame rendered by a node on Backburner jobs (Mental Ray only)

can this be applied to vray as well? it's having the same error (latest vray stable) in deadline (i'm guessing its same issue)

cheers,

chris

Hi Chris,

Big thanks for reporting it. Well, the "Fixed bug updating first frame rendered by a node on Backburner jobs (Mental Ray only)" was exclusively mental ray related problem and up to now we don't have any similar V-Ray renderer issue reported.

Recently, we've added additional log options. To enable the log, please set General - Log Level to Debug in any of Forest objects in your scene, before sending it to renderer. The log fine is located at:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsmax\<max version>\ENU\Network\Max.log

Would you mind to send us the log file for the node which don't render correctly? Ideally, please try to reproduce the problem with a minimal scene and send us such scene to check it here. Thanks a lot for your collaboration, your feedback is very important to us.

Best regadrs,

I'll give that a try in a sec, but I have reported this, its the flickering render thread in the forest pack light section (before I had access to this sub forum) It sounds like the exact same issue the mental ray issue is.. for some reason it doesnt load random forest pack items (the plants themselves IN the FP) on the first frame, but after the first frame it's correct. So on a very large farm (we have over 2300 nodes here) you get flickering like mad unless its a very long sequence. The only workaround I have is to force the machines to reload plugins every frame.. which, on some of these scenes is a very, very bad thing (they are well over a Gb and have lots of maps) :)

I'll give the logging a try as soon as I post this.

cheers
