I've had very little experience so far working with FP6 - currently i have installed 6.0.4b. So far, i'm seeing some really wierd things. For example, in an existing scene, if i create a new plane object (at coordinates 0,0,0) and add a FP object (by clicking on the plane) I simply cannot get the FP objects to appear on the plane. Instead, they are created way, way off in the distance. No adjustments to the FP settings can fix it.
A few days ago i had successfully managed (i think it was with 6.0.3) to create a FP object. However, if i now try to add another surface it wont work. My only option is to go to the original surface geometry and attach the additional surface to it (so instead of having 2 seperate surfaces its just 1). That seems to work. Any time i try to add an additional object it just gets completely ingored (even though it is visible in the list of surfaces).
The only workaround I can come up with is to create a new scene, make a new simple plane and use it as a surface for a FP object. Then i import in the actual geometry that i need - attach it to the plane object so they become one object. Then go back to my actual scene i am working on and import in the new objects i just created. I have to make sure to choose to overwritee any existing FP items for this to work. So, once its in, I can then delete the plane from the surface geometry and i then have a usable FP object.
yikes, its pretty bad !
