To see the geometry in Forest Pack in a point cloud, you need to switch the proxy object to the "geometry" mode, it's not convenient and it was not so before.
Proxy objects corona renderer have always been in cloud point mode and Forest Pack in the "point cloud" mode showed the geometry of the object from the points, but now it shows a box of dots
Use proxy in the "geometry" mode is difficult, they greatly slow down 3D Max.
Please correct this.

Hi, in order to build the Point-cloud, Forest needs to get the geometry from the object.

In FP5 we used the render mesh, but this was forcing the proxy to load the full geometry from disk, causing a major slowdown in large scenes, and in fact defeating the purpose of proxies. This problem was reported from several users.

FP6 instead, uses the viewport geometry of the object. This is much more lighter and fixed the slowndown issue. But as side effect, the Point-cloud you get depends of the proxy settings.

We cannot use the proxy's point cloud because it's stored internally, and not exposed to other plugins.

Anyway, we have discussed this issue with the Corona guys, and they are willing to add an interface, so Forest can use their point-cloud.
But this may take some time, because requires changes both in Corona and Forest.

Thank you for your reply
but can be a choice?
make the mode as FP5?
let everyone decide how convenient it is for him
this will be a temporary solution, until the Crown decides to solve the problem with you

now it probably makes loading faster, but in work it is very uncomfortable
Thanks

I will check if it's possible to include both options.

In the latest beta (6.0.4) we have removed this feature, and now proxies are handled as FP5.

Although it takes more time to load the scene, it's necessary to evaluate the mesh, and build the structures for Point-Cloud and Forest Color/Edge.
In any case, this process must be done at some time. If not on load, later on the first render. So globally there is not benefit at all, and the new workflow was causing problems.
