Hi

Quote from announcement change log:

Quote
- Camera rollout is reorganized and simplified.
    * The 'Camera' parameter is removed. Now Camera data is fetched automatically from the active view/render, in a much more reliable way.
    * To improve viewport performance, Camera features are disabled on viewport by default. You must turn on the "Enable on Viewport" checkbox.
    * Fixed issues with Batch render when rendering from different cameras.
    * "Use Environment Range" option is removed for LOD/Falloff.

Limit to visibility option is unusable with corona renderer, crashes 3ds max 2021 when change active view in viewport on interactive rendering. (enable on Viewport check or not).

Done. I noticed another issue, Forest edge doesn't work with corona IR (regular render no issue).

Hi.
I have tried multiple scenes, both large and complex. Can't reproduce the crash.

It would help us if You could send us your simplified scene.

Hi there,

Just to go back to the theme of this thread -the new camera visibility feature in FP07. I'm not quite sure how to explain my issue clearly but I'll try!

In older versions of FP, when camera 'limit to visibility' was checked, the 'cone' of visible FP items was clear on all viewports (camera/top/front/left etc). Now, however, only when my camera viewport is selected is that applicable, but as soon as I click in the top/any other viewport to make adjustments everything changes relative to the that specific viewport. This presents many issues: it's confusing, it slows down performance, interactive rendering also adjusts to match etc.

Is there an option to go back to the way it was before?

PS I have enable on viewport checked. If it's unchecked it defeats the purpose.

Thanks,
Terri

I'm afraid it's not possible to keep the previous behavior. All the camera code is rewritten from scratch, and new method is incompatible with the old one.

Limit to camera is really meant only for rendertime processing. Having it calculated for viewport only adds impact on performance.
There are other ways to speed viewport performance as well, like using proxy display items, as well as limiting their count.

We hope this will solve more problems(which it does) than create new ones.

Thanks Rokas.

That's really unfortunate. I do use proxy display items, and I limit their count as much as possible.

I've found it far more tedious/slower working this new way, so in terms of performance I'd rather have slightly slower render times to be honest. Such a pity because that feature alone makes me consider rolling back to FP 6. Which would suck as there are some other very awesome new features in FP 7.

Thanks though.
