Forest Pro 6.01b and Vray Next
« on: February 16, 2018, 12:32:48 PM »
Hi, i have been trying to render an old project testing out Vray Next. The scene contains absolutely loads of forest objects for the landscaping. When i tried a few weeks ago to test my machine just crashed. I sent the log files to Chaos and they said i was running out of memory although i do have 128gb ram, the scene in total was pushing 90gb rendering with Vray 3.6.04.

Since updating my Forest to the 6.0.1b i have tried to creat a simpe scene with only one Laubwerk tree rendered and its fine. Add the tree to a Forest scatter and then it dopes the same Unhandled Exception.

Can someone let me know if this is a known issue that Forest still will not work with Vray Next ?

Hi, other users have reported problems with V-Ray Next, although we could not reproduce them.
Anyway, we are not going to investigate it by now, because beta 2 of V-Ray Next will be released soon and we expect many changes.

Regarding Laubwerk, please hold on. We'll check it.

HI,thanks for the info.

Rendering a Laubwerk tree in Vray Next is fine. It is just as soon as i put the tree in a scatter it Unhandle Exceptions. Delete scatter and its fine.

Agree on waiting for Beta 2
