wondergin if its worth sending the full scene with all the objects.

BUT then is it really necessary? The scene crashes only when the FP stuff is present, when i delete it, it works.
As all the other scenes we have currently undergo her in the office.

Were working on 10 projects, 2 use FP and only those two are crashing.

Try to isolate a network node which is causing it first. Then maybe it will be clear why.

Let say You have 80 nodes.
Try with 1-40, does it crash?
No? Try with 41-80, does it crash?
Let's hope yes- then test 41-60, does it crash?  Yes - try 41-50... and so on. it will be quite quick to find the misbehaving one if there is such.

The node which generated the minidump had FP 6.0.6 installed. That caused the crash because is not compatible with V-Ray Next.
From a minidump is not possible to see the state or other nodes, just the computer which generates it.

Perhaps we are searching the problem in the DR nodes, but is the workstation what is not updated...

I excluded the workstations form the equation when i did the last test.

Its the node.
But tell me...how is it possible it had a 606 installed when we never installed 606 in the farm in the first place :)
only 608

And all the nodes that i accessed twice already, are saying in the folders and in the programs that they have 608 installed as well as NEXT is installed everywhere.

I will do this all over again and i will then test one by one but its pretty crazy. I already spent two full days debugging this.

No idea, sincerely. Theorically it's not possible.

I checked again the minidump (in case i picked a wrong file from my disk), but everything seems correct: the workstation which generated the minidump had FP 6.0.6 installed, and there are not mixed versions in our installers (which it would be strange because are generated automatically).

I hope you find the problem. If we can help in some way, please tell us.

Ok so its worse than i thought it woudl be.

When trying to debug all the nodes i went for each and every single one - one by one method.

All the nodes work and all render FP objects.

BUT

When i select all the nodes to contribute to DR - it crashes down :-O

When i exclude the localhost from the computation it all renders fine, no crash.

When i render on localhost only without DR, it renders fine as well.

When i run the spawner on the localhost but exclude the localhost in the vray DR dialogue (so its pure DR) it also renders fine too.

CONCLUSION

Its the case where localhost (but not ran through spawner) is part of rendering of the scene with FP and ALL the DR nodes we have are contributing to the DR as well. If i exclude ANY DR nodes while still having localhost rendering - it works.  If i run run the localhost as DR node - it renders.  Basically it crashes when the full farm is utilized while my localhost is part of the process.

I deleted all the FP objects from the scene and this time it crashed too....

NO IDEA :-/

while doing these tests i have noticed that my workstation computer renders the buckets slightly brighter! but when i deleted the FP , the rendering went withtout the buckets changes.

I would suggest you convert all Forests to stand-alone objects using Forest Tools, and then repeat the test with Forest installed and uninstalled.
If the Forest objects are too large to be converted, please use a minimal scene where you can reproduce the problem.

To uninstall Forest, it's not necessary to remove all. Just move temporary ForestPackPro.dlo from "plugins" to any other folder.

If it crashes or generates any strange result with Forest disabled, i think it's time to ask to ChaosGroup again.

If you can get any minidump in the process, please upload it and we'll check it.

I can confirm with Vray NEXT and FP 608b (which supports Vray Next official build), when we render DR, after the render has completed, 3dsmax will crash. (We are on 3dsmax 2017). iToo has mentioned to me that they are planning to release FP 6.0 within the few 3 weeks. Hopefully this will fix the problem. Whatever it is, for now, we will have to go back to vr 3.6 + FP for to continue production.

EDIT: rendering DR on one machine seems to work fine. As soon as I introduced multiple DR machines, is when it crashes

I think this could be correct.  Likely a vray issue.
