Creating my own leaves
« on: June 13, 2025, 12:33:26 am »
Hi,

I'm looking to create an ivy that is not in the library. I created my own leaves but ForestIvy doesn't seem to work with them. The leaves don't show up at all.
I noticed that the geometry of the leaves in the library is in FP files.

How can I use my own leaves?

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing trouble with it. ForestIvy uses a layer system to apply leaves and flowers to the branches. After adding models, you’ll also need to create layers and assign assets, as explained in detail here.

I hope this helps — and if you run into any further issues, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Best regards,

I'm sorry, but do you have a sample scene where I can see how the leaves are set up? That's what I wanted to do with the library models but the geometry is not available as far as I can tell.

Hi, you can extract the geometry from the library presets, using the 'Extract Model to Scene' button, as shown in the attached image.

Besides that, you can assign a new geometry clicking the button located below the name (it shows '<embedded>' for the library models).
