Spline as source
« on: September 12, 2024, 11:18:47 AM »
Hi, we are currently working on a project where climbers are attached to steel cables. We have these cables as curves and now we would like to use FP Ivy. Unfortunately there is no option to use these curves. So I had to create a dummy surfasce around the curves and draw FP Ivy on it manually. Would it be possible in the future to be able to assign a curve as a source for ivy growth?
Thx

Hi, i'm afraid it's not possible to use only a spline.
ForestIvy requires a mesh to grow, because the alignment of leaves and other components depends of the surface's normals.

But for next versions we want to include options to export/import the Baseline from a spline.
Using that you would create a dummy surface from the curve, and the import the Baseline from the same curve. That makes the process more simple, without having to "paint" the Baseline.

Thank you. That will be quite sufficient. :-)
