Title: Forest Pro Laptop-licence
Post by: c0cllc on July 11, 2011, 09:43:04 AM
Good morning,
i'm very interested in purchasing a Forest Pro license today. My main workstation is at home but when i go to visit clients, i'm taking my laptop there. So is there a way to transfer the license to my laptop while i'm at the client and transfer it back to my workstation when i'm home again? Autodesk and Adobe for example, even allow me to activate 3ds max and Adobe CS5 on both machines, they just ask me to not use them simultaneously. Maybe that is possible wit Forest Pro also?
Or do i really need 2 licenses...Thanks in advance

Yes, although this case is not described in our license agreement, we are flexible about it. You can activate the license in the laptop, provided that both copies are not used simultaneously. Each license includes five automatic activations by default, but you can request us more by e-mail when necessary.

Thanks for the fast answering, great news, so i'm going to buy a license now  :)
But now a second question just to know: in the above described case, may i still use my Laptop (which is a quad-core) as a backburner rendering-node only? i would be working on my workstation only, so the Laptop WOULD run simultaneously but ONLY as a backburner rendering node...

Render nodes doesn't need any licensing, so you can use unlimited number of computers as render nodes with BackBurner or DR and Forest Pro.
