Title: How to create footsteps in grass?
Post by: Tobias Jansson on December 06, 2011, 08:50:10 AM
Hi!

I am making an animation of a heavy droid in a forest and I need to create footsteps in the grass (the grass is made with forest pro). I have a few ideas myself but would like to hear your views..
Thanks!

Interesting project. Some ideas:

- Using a scale map
- Creating a spline for the footsteps, which is used simultaneously as excluding area for the main grass, and for a separate object to create the stepped grass.
- Creating a fake hidden mesh for the footsteps, which can be used as excluding area in Forest 3.7.x. Same idea as the excluding spline, but probably it would be animated more easily.
