Update Manager Network Error
« on: October 13, 2025, 11:03:21 am »
Hi there,

running into this issue (see attached) when trying to login to Update Manager on a coworkers workstation (to install Forest & Railclone libraries).
It runs fine on my own (and several others). So I wonder if it's a firewall thing or not.

Any help on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you're facing trouble with it. At the moment, our application can't read the system's proxy settings. When using a proxy server, it needs to be configured manually under Settings > Preferences > Network (if you're not using a proxy server, it shouldn't be marked). The Update Manager uses the HTTPS protocol - port 443 should be accessible, and access to the following domains has to be allowed:

https://secure.itoosoft.com
https://ump.itoosoft.com

Thanks in advance for any further details on this issue you can share with us or our user community (in case some users will run into similar troubles).

Best regards,

This error also may be caused by a conflict with the SSL libraries (libcrypto-1_1-x64.dll and libssl-1_1-x64.dll).

Usually these are loaded from the path where is running Update Manager (C:\Program Files\Itoo Software\Common).
But if there is some route in the PATH environment variable with the same libraries, it would cause the conflict.

Please try running Update Manager using the attached BAT file, and see if there is some difference.
