updated plugins wont recognize the floating license server
« on: October 15, 2025, 06:42:09 pm »
(Previously posted this question in the Forest Pro group, but It seems to be more appropriate here in the off topic group.  Sorry for the double post)

I just updated from 9.2.4 to 9.3.2 and forest will not recognize my license server.  The server is on a network and it can be pinged.  When I switch back to 9.2.4 everything works fine.  I should also point out that Railclone does the same thing.  7.1.1 to 7.1.3.
The license server is 1.5.0.   The most recent downloadable version is also 1.5.0 and dated 2020.  But here is where it gets confusing; why do I have a 1.6.2 dated 2024 on my local machine?  I do not use this server, but I don't understand why its a newer version.  Where do I get 1.6.2 for the remote server?  Has anyone had the same issue?

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you're facing these troubles. Could you please provide us with the first error or warning message (a screenshot would be ideal) that the user encountered? Also, please send us the log file from the Itoo Software License Manager. You can find it under the License Server tab by clicking on 'View Log'. This will help us analyze the problem further. Thanks in advance.

Let me mention that these different License Manager / License Server might be a bit confusing, but your configuration should be correct. The License Manager (currently version 1.6.2) is necessary for all license types (Stand-alone and Network). On the other hand, the License Server (currently version 1.5.0) is specifically required to manage the licensing service for Network licenses.

We appreciate any additional insights you can provide.

Best regards,
