Save a library
« on: July 24, 2017, 09:28:33 AM »
Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to paste the library to a place other than the source file of Forest Pack Pro?
I would like to paste my HQ Plants library on another disk. How can you tell Forest that he has to look for trees in another record?
I do not know if I'm very clear?

To put it simply, I do not want to install the booksellers in the source package of Forest Pack, but on another local disk.

I do not have enough space in my C drive.

Thank you for your help.

David

Hi David,

First let me mention, that all presets bundled with Forest Pack will be overwritten during reinstallation / upgrade. For this reason we don't recommend saving any of your custom / edited styles inside of this library (C:\Program Files (x86)\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro\lib and use for this purposes User's Libraries. In the Library Browser interface by going to File - Preferences... you can access the Library Browser Options where under Library Paths you can manage folders used for saving your custom styles.

The same is applicable to the HQ Catalog - we highly don't recommend saving any data inside of the C:\Program Files (x86)\Itoo Software\HQ Plants Catalog\lib folder. When HQPlants Libraries window pops up, map the path to your files by pressing Select installation Path button. You should select the corresponding folder where you unpacked your HQ models (it can be unpacked "anywhere" on your local / external / shared drive).

Hi Michal,

First of all thank you for your reply.

I followed your instructions, I think. So I pasted the HQ Plants library into my M disk, but when I want to do the Select Install Path, it does not work. It gives me an error message.

What is wrong?

Thank you.

Hi,

When mapping the HQ Plants path (under the Select installation Path window), please double check you are selecting the corresponding folder where you've unpacked your HQ models - for HQ Plants 1 it should be hq_plants_1 folder hosting all .max files (not the folder from HQ Plants Catalog installation).

Best regadrs,
